One of my readers asked me to explain how he can transfer his favorite websites from Internet Explorer to another PC or laptop. This may sound easy to anyone who is experienced with computers or whoever did this before, but definitely not to the basic user. I knew it was a simple task, but since I had never attempted that, I had to do some research myself.
There are many Web sites which explain how to move your favorite Web links from one computer to another, and I confirmed the following method with a simple Google search.
All you have to do is copy your favorites folder from Documents and Settings (WinXP) or Users (Vista/7) and move it to the new PC.

Do you sometimes wish you could watch those funny Youtube videos but you don’t have an Internet connection? Or concerts and video clips of your favorite band? I have never downloaded any clips from Youtube, but I was still curious about how this can be done, since there is no download link. I just assumed it was impossible. That is, until I discovered several tools that let you do this.
Here are some that I found:
KeepVid – Simply add this tool to your favorites. When you watch a Youtube video, just click the Keep It button to save.
SaveTube – Just copy the YouTube video URL, paste into the box and press GO. This tool is also suitable for downloads of high definition videos.
Savevid – With savevid you can download videos from most streaming video sites. You can download videos from Youtube, Google Videos, Metacafe and more in FLV, AVI, MOV, MPG or WMV formats.

I just tested EASEUS Partition Master Home Edition – one of the best FREE partition tools on the Internet – and I love it. Partition Master gives you all the functionalities you’d expect from great partition software: extend or decrease partitions, manage disk space easily, settle low disk space problems and includes data protection features such as Partition Manager, Disk & Partition Copy Wizard & Partition Recovery Wizard. The program is compatible with Windows 2000/XP/Vista/Windows 7 (32 bit).
You can download the free home edition of Partition master at the Easus Web site, or if you’d like to go a step up, PC Memoirs has secured ONE PROFESSIONAL LICENSE from EASEUS, so be quick and leave a comment. First visitor to leave one will receive a FREE Licence for Partition Master – Professional Edition. The Pro edition is compatible with 64 bit systems.
I downloaded the 11.1MB setup, installed it in 2 minutes and ran the tool. From there, I could resize, copy, delete, convert, wipe and defragment partitions. It is very easy to use and if you make a mistake, the UNDO button helps you reverse the last operation. You can find all help contents in the main HELP menu.

Today is all about fun with computers. Therefore, I have collected a number of IT jokes that I came across recently. Some are great, some just ok. I like the one with the blonde. Enjoy!
Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.
During a recent password audit at a large company, it was found that a blonde receptionist was using the following password: “MickeyMinniePlutoHueyLouieDeweyDonaldGoofySacramento” When asked why she had such a long password, she said she was told that it had to be at least eight characters long and include at least one capital.
Q: How many programmers does it take to change a light bulb? A: None. It’s a hardware problem.
My computer made a funny sound the other day. Of course, I’ve never heard it get thrown out of a window before.
A doctor, a civil engineer and a programmer are discussing whose profession is the oldest. “Surely medicine is the oldest profession,” says the doctor. “God took a rib from Adam and created Eve and if this isn’t medicine I’ll be…” The civil engineer breaks in: “But before that He created the heavens and the earth from chaos. Now that’s civil engineering to me.” The programmer thinks a bit and then says: “And who do you think created chaos?”
