In general, a Mac user may need an application utility, converter utility, recovery applications but how often does a Mac user requires a data wiping utility? I am not betting on it but yes, maximum percentage of the users (including myself) may never assume of having one.

To us, deleting data permanently from a Mac machine using the command ‘Option-Shift-Command-Delete’ or by emptying the trash folder is more than sufficient. But to confirm a sensitive file is wiped from the drive, I may opt to format the media, hard drive and USB. But again, a question arises from the action, whether my efforts are enough to secure the sensitive data?

While Apple has undoubtedly ruled the tablet space so far, new players have recently entered the arena with innovative devices all set to give the iPad stiff competition. Microsoft’s Surface tablets running on Windows 8 and the many Android tablets are the new players on the field. But before Windows and Android tablets can get around to challenging the iPad’s superstar position they first have to wage war against each other.

Surface RT may be Microsoft’s homegrown tablet but it’s not the only one running on Windows 8. Also on the pitch are tablets like Acer’s Iconia W510 and Asus’s Vivo. One of the versions of the Surface will be running on Windows RT which is an operating system based on Windows 8 but powered by an ARM processor (NVIDIA’s 1.4GHz T30 Tegra 3 quad-core processor). Some of the foremost Android tablets will also be powered by ARM Cortex-based CPUs similar to the one above.

AMD abbreviated as Advanced Micro Devices, is an American company based in California. The company is popular for creating desktop and laptop processors. With the launch of new Z60 chipset, the company aims to make it big in the chipset market. The new chip also known as Hondo, boasts of an ultra lean design that can handle Windows 8. Z60 is capable enough to compete against chipset manufacturing giants like Intel, Nvidia and Chipzilla. The Z60 chipset is designed to consume low power and provide high performance.

According to the company, the chip will provide more than 10 hours of battery life for Windows 8 powered tablets. Intel has also pledged similar kind of performance from its Clover Trail. This would lead to old fashioned chip fight between the two multinational chip manufacturing giants.

To defeat its competitors, AMD has focused largely on the visualization. The company claims that Z60 has five times better graphics performance than Intel’s previous chipset Cedar Trail. The most important use of the graphics card is for games or watching movies. The chip boasts of 1920 x 1200 resolutions over HDMI. However, AMD has admitted that watching 720p movies would provide the best experience than watching a 1080p movie.
