In the days before digitisation, businesses had a limited number of options for dealing with disaster recovery, all of which involved rectifying on-site issues and making do while repair work progressed. But today the average business will have a very low tolerance for downtime or outages of any kind, particularly if they are caused by internal systems being rendered inoperable, or the geographic location of the organisation inaccessible. Business continuity planning can consume significant resources if you intend to manage it in-house, and you will need a fairly large and experienced IT department to successfully navigate the treacherous waters of downtime towards recovery without hitting a few icebergs along the way.
Of course you could choose to look to a third party for support during disasters, as well as for the planning and preparation that will put you in a better position to recover once the worst is over.

A couple of nights ago a friend of mine called me to help him with a new computer virus. It was something that he hasn’t seen before. The screen was blocked and covered with a message supposedly from the FBI, telling him he engaged in illegal activity and he has to pay a fine in order to unlock his computer. This was of course a fraudulent claim. As we all know, FBI wouldn’t just send you a bill if you were in trouble. If you really did something illegal, they would come knocking on your door after covertly gathering all evidence.
So, to make it clear: this message is a virus and it has nothing to do with FBI! If you get the same message, do not click on any of the links and do not pay anything! You can try to remove it yourself using the options I’m about to present.

Any serious gamer can vouch for the importance of having a reliable Internet connection. While price is usually the first factor that comes into play when assessing a provider’s offerings, consistency and speed should also be prioritized if you intend to make the most of your gaming experience.
Consistency refers to the actual download speed in relation to the provider’s advertised rates. Based on the results from a 2013 study conducted by the FCC, fiber Internet has been proven to deliver the most consistent speeds, drastically surpassing cable and DSL. To put it into perspective, Verizon’s fiber Internet beat out Comcast, Time Warner, AT&T and even the company’s own DSL service for consistent download speed—tested over the course of a day.

Advancement in technology has been rapid and most people have embraced it by having their own personal computers. However, the issue of security when it comes to the use of computers is a crucial thing as most unauthorized individuals may be curious enough to view other people’s files.
Thanks to XUS, who came up with a secure way to lock computer windows, this can be prevented. XUS PC Lock requires that the user designs a pattern by drawing it with the mouse to create some form of unique combination which cannot be easily traced by third parties or unauthorized users. Every time your windows times out, you are required to draw the pattern and not to forget it so as to unlock the PC. This system, which works much like the lock pattern on android phones, is used and appreciated by many users. It has given them the security they need without having to use regular password locks.

Technology has made a great impact on business in terms of making tasks easier and faster. It contributes to the overall productivity of the company and helps bring in profit. However, as we rely more and more on mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets for work, there is a great tendency that this technology can get abused. We all know the usual scenario in the office; employees tend to procrastinate, visiting social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter, playing game apps or texting.
These activities in the workplace can very much affect an employee’s performance and productivity, therefore affecting the business’ investments and profits. To prevent these activities, many employees had spent thousands and thousands of dollars for barriers to keep their employees from doing the job they are paid to do. Time cards, thumb check-in, even security guards and cameras to monitor employees are some ways that most business owners do, but is it working? Somehow, irresponsible employees still find a way around these security measures.
